La Casa de Papel became one of the biggest shows on Netflix.  For the final chapter of the series, we wanted to celebrate the legacy and global impact by connecting fans and sharing memorable moments that fans can relive long after the final episode. To achieve this, we developed a digital hub consisting of key show moments, fan messages, social content, and a live stream of the La Casa de Papel: El Lago.

The website launched 24 hours before the La Casa de Papel: El Lago fan event by asking fans to submit a message of resistance to unlock exclusive content after the event.

Fans submitted messages of their favorite moments, characters, and connections to the show. Users could tag a location for their message to be pinned onto the globe and viewable by all site visitors.

All fan-submitted messages were vetted through a profanity filter and CMS moderation before being published live.


We promoted the site through owned and paid channels across EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and UCAN and localized it in 11 languages*.

Sustaining Engagement - Explore View

Following the live stream fan event, we sustained engagement by publishing new content in a new Explore view.

This view was designed with the intent of giving fans an opportunity to relive their favorite show moments and explore UGC and social content from fans.
